Prompt: #3 - Winter hot tub
Summary: "Please tell me these people aren't Wraith worshippers," Rodney begged.
Note: For Adventdrabbles on Insane Journal.
"Please tell me these people aren't Wraith worshippers," Rodney begged. "Or cannibals."
"Not that we know of," John replied.
"Or vegetarians," Rodney added.
"Not so sure about that," John laughed. "But I think they eat the almost-sheep, in addition to shearing them."
"Oh, good," Rodney breathed.
"Why?" John asked.
"They have hot tubs," Rodney grinned.
"You have a whirlpool tub in your room." John was confused.
"Outdoor, winter hot tubs," Rodney explained.
"And? That's special, how?" John was still confused. "You bitched and moaned about cold weather all the way here."
Rodney leaned close. "Outdoor, winter hot tubs. For two."
It turned out that the hot tubs for two were a 'hot' commodity. They were booked for days.
John watched as Rodney tried to negotiate for a tub. First through Teyla and, when that failed, John could see him dither about asking Ronon to 'accidentally' hurt someone so there would be a free time.
Finally taking pity, John grabbed Rodney's hand. "Come on."
"What? Where?" When he saw where they were going, he stopped short. "What did you do?"
John turned and brought him in for a kiss. "Remember when Lorne was here? I made us a reservation weeks ago."
"I may forgive you," Rodney murmured. "Some day."
John had not seen Rodney so relaxed since... in a long time. Even after sex he wasn't as relaxed as he was now.
John eased next to Rodney in the tub and they sat side by side.
"How did you get this tub?" Rodney asked.
"It's for... special occasions," John replied. "Lorne told the chieftan that we had a special event today."
Rodney raised his head to look at John. "You lied?"
"Never," John grinned. He reached out and took Rodney's hand.
"John?" Rodney asked.
A soft kiss, a promise. "Marry me?"
