Another 7 Questions....

...this time from squidgiepdx.

Same deal. Make a comment here and I'll ask you 7 questions you need to answer on your journal, offering to do the same to keep the meme going.

1) What word would you like to see banished from the English language?

Oh... such a list... hmmm... you're making me think about it, though... my mind immediately went to the derogatory racial slurs but, well, that's a list...

Then I think about phrases like "politically correct" ... which drives me crazy...

I'm not sure I can come up with just one...

2) Coffee or tea?

One cup of coffee first thing in the morning to get me going. I love McDonald's coffee and the $.79 deal right now is a bargain in my life. Starbuck's coffee tastes burnt to me but I love some of the flavored drinks. Caramel macchiato... mmmm...

I switch to tea for the work day. I use the coffee maker at work to make a pot that I mostly drink on my own... flavored teas, mostly. I adore Harry and David's Black Cherry Tea, as well as Tazo Passion...

Although after a big meal on a night out, coffee with real cream and sugar is almost as good as dessert...

3) If you could speak a foreign language, which one would it be? And if you do already speak a foreign language, what one(s) do you speak?

Sadly I'm mono-lingual... ;-(

Hmm... It's faintly banal but probably Spanish... it's a growing language in a lot of places so I'd be good when I travel. Although sign language would be interesting.

4) A vacation home on the beach, in the mountains, or on a lake?

On a lake. Not too big of one, something I could take a rowboat or a canoe out in but not big enough to have to share with too many people... and the requisite dock. But I'm not much for the sun so a huge, shady porch where I can sit out, watch what's going on and do next to nothing. And a decent kitchen since I do like to cook... a long vacation would let me indulge in some of that... after a month I'd be bored but, whoa, what a month.

5) What's a fond memory from childhood?

The neighborhood library. It's a community center now (system downsizing) but when I was a kid, I worked my way through that entire fiction collection. It was far enough from the house that when I was finally old enough to be able to go back and forth on my own, it was a treat... I spent hours there....

6) If you showed up on Atlantis, what would you like your job function be?

Gate technician. Working on and with the gate, kind of like Chuck but also to study the gate and the DHD and learn more about how it works. It's in the middle of everything and you get to see what's going on.

7) When was the last time you stayed up past your bedtime reading, and what was the book/story that kept you awake?

Hmmm... not that long ago -- last week. I was reading a huge Harry/Draco creature!fic... Harry gets wings, Harry and Draco are not only soul mates but elves (and Royal at that) -- Life Renovations (here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3991955/1/Life_Renovations)... the first part was decent in spite of the need for a beta for the typos but the second, huge, part just went off in a direction that was just too much for me. And there's a third part I didn't even peek into...
