Rodney fumbles to turn off the alarm before it can ring. John's usually the one awake at this hour, getting up early to run with Ronon as Rodney sleeps in. Once the alarm is silenced, Rodney eases back under the covers to watch John sleep.

Sprawled on the bed, arm slung carelessly over Rodney's waist, John looks younger, more at ease than he ever does during the day. He worms closer to Rodney, unconsciously tightening his hold.

Rodney drops a soft kiss on the top of John's head, enjoying the closeness and the warmth of just being together.

"Mmmpphhh?" John mumbles.

"Shhhh... go back to sleep," Rodney whispers. "Early."

"Hmmm....." John rubs his nose into Rodney's arm.

Rodney shifts so his arm is around John and in the end John is half lying on Rodney, snuggling -- not that either one of them would ever describe it that way -- together. Rodney shuts his eyes, sliding toward sleep.

Before he can fall completely, John moves again tilting his face up closer to Rodney's. Without thought Rodney reacts and lips meet, warm like their bed and sweet as the dawn.

"..mr'ning..." John mumbles against his lips.

"Sleep..." A protest, but gentle.

"Mmmm.... 'kay," John agrees.
