1. Can you do simple sewing repairs, such as replacing a button or rejoining a straight seam?
Sure. I have limited interest now, but I made some of my own clothes (dresses, skirts, pants) in my younger years. But I had to hem the sheers I just bought for the living room, since the ones I was replacing must have been custom (they came with the house) and what was available needed adjustment.
2. Can you change a flat tire?
Does knowing how to call AAA count? I know some of the theory and *might* be able to do it in a pinch, but, well, not really.
3. Can you plan and cook a simple meal?
I cook all the time and can do some relatively elaborate meals, if I need to. Again, I've gotten to the point where I want to spend time with my guests, so I either prep food ahead of time or make casseroles and soups that one can serve themselves.
4. Can you rewire a lamp?
I've never done it, but if I have one to follow, or if I can take apart the one that's broken, I probably can do it.
5. Are you a spender or a saver? Are you able to switch from one to the other on occasion?
I am both. While I can spend money with the best of them (as in, when I need/want something, I get it, and I don't spend days scouting for a substitute or something on sale). But I have a decent savings available so that I can spend it when I need to.
